The company was founded by Dusan Klimo, musicologist and electronic engineer who had a passion for valves: he soon constructed a tuner in 1975, and a preamplifier, Merlin, the first valve electronic units produced, unforgettable because of their luxurious and elegant chassis frame and because of their Celtic names. In 1993, the Klimo staff was regenerated with the arrival of new important figures known as Human resources in the language of marketing and it also provides the basis for the development of the company. Today, alongside the founder, there are pupils with considerable technical training who have acquired great work experience over the years. Engineers and valve technicians then began the difficult research. They studied innovative solutions with the objective of further increasing the quality of Klimo products, already at the time considered to be top-quality. An ambitious project became clear: being able to define the "Klimo standard", the standard chosen by that set of customers who are so demanding that they can guarantee themselves "the very best" whenever they purchase a product. An extremely important aspect of this objective is the choice of extremely high-quality materials, components made with the best technologies available and craftsmen who can ensure that the parts of the final machine are totally impeccable. The hard work of the engineers, then, is continuously put to the test of the severe standards of the musicians who study music. These extremely high levels of company quality exist in a company producing units whose sound is ever better because we leave nothing to chance. The same team which develops innovative solutions and works on new products still spends a lot of its time on the traditional projects, because tradition is extremely important in the art of music. The products created with these technologies such as the mythical Merlin, for example, are still considered able to make us very happy and to contribute over time to making the brand as successful as possible. In any case, the best projects and designs always maintain something from before. Recent years have seen the taking shape of the new electronic units known as "new generation line", including the new "Merlino" series.
